Talk to us about being on the Campaign Cabinet. What motivated you to want to get involved?
Volunteering for our amazing community truly fills my bucket. I love giving back and supporting and helping others, especially those in need. I am excited to learn more!
There are so many ways to give back and be involved with charitable organizations. Why do you choose United Way of Treasure Valley?
I was drawn to the United Way for a couple of reasons. My dad has volunteered for over 30 years with the United Way. He really instilled the value of volunteerism, especially for the United Way and the entities that they support. I am very excited to support activities such as the book bash. I believe all children should have access to their own amazing books. One of my favorite family activities is to snuggle and read to my two kiddos.
Tell us a little about your role with your organization and what you do. If you’re retired, tell us about your work history.
I am the Commercial, Industrial and Irrigation Energy Efficiency Program Leader for Idaho Power. Our team manages the energy savings programs available for our Commercial, Industrial and Irrigation customers. We love helping our customers save energy and money by encouraging them to install more efficient equipment or changing their behavior. My background is technical in nature as a mechanical engineer. I specialized in working with our local cities to manage the efficiency of their water and wastewater treatment plants.
What do you like to do in your spare time?
I am married with two young boys. We typically like to enjoy our Idaho outdoors in our free time. We like to camp in the summer and ski in the winter. We also love to mountain bike and run together as a family. We also have a dog, Trail, that we try to keep entertained. I enjoy learning and trying new things. I love to knit and I make homemade kombucha and sourdough. My covid activity was learning to play the ukulele!
