State of the Treasure Valley

The Treasure Valley is at a crossroads. We are seeing widespread growth across our vibrant communities, bringing expansion of business, culture, and opportunity. Alongside that growth is increased need and a widening gap in stability. This is the pivotal moment. We have the opportunity to change the odds, building communities where everyone can thrive.

On August 20th, 2024 community leaders, partners, and supporters gathered at the Riverside Hotel for the annual State of the Treasure Valley event. The morning was filled with insightful discussions, powerful data presentations, and a shared commitment to building a brighter future for all Idahoans. Attendees learned about the current state of our community, with a particular focus on the challenges facing ALICE (Asset Limited, Income Constrained, Employed) families, who make up 43% of households in Idaho.

Anne Wolverton, United Way of Treasure Valley's Director of Community Resources, highlighted the importance of data-driven decision-making in addressing the growing needs within our vibrant, yet increasingly strained communities. From exploring the critical role of the ALICE population to unveiling the real-time impact of resources like findhelpidaho.org, the event underscored the urgent need for collective action. Together, we can change the odds and create a Treasure Valley where everyone has the opportunity to thrive. Thank you to all who participated and supported this important gathering.
