Another amazing lady joins us today on our Campaign Cabinet. Welcome, Maureen Hamilton!1. Talk to us about being on the Campaign Cabinet. What motivated you to want to get involved?
I’ve witnessed the power of individuals giving back to their communities through the gifts of time, their talents and/or financial contributions. I know where people choose to give is deeply personal so if I can help promote the mission of the United Way – to improve the health, education and financial stability of those in our community – well, then that’s a win!
2. There are so many ways to give back and be involved with charitable organizations. Why do you choose United Way?
The United Way impacts the lives of thousands of people in the Treasure Valley through collaborations with companies, individuals, nonprofits and the like. They’ve taken the saying "many hands make light work" to a new level and they are working hard to solve complex issues – especially in our current environment.
3. Tell us a little about your role with your organization and what you do!
As the Director of Community and Business Relations, I have the pleasure to serve as a brand ambassador for Regence BlueShield across the state of Idaho. I seek opportunities to partner with individuals, customers and nonprofits to help create a better health care system and support community programs that put people first.
4. What are you doing when you’re not working your tail off at your place of employment or for United Way?
In my “free time” I enjoy reading, traveling – both locally in the greater Pacific Northwest and around the globe, shopping at farmer’s markets and small retailers to support the local economy and spending time outdoors with my husband and our St. Bernard.
