Are you ready for the next amazing member of our campaign cabinet? We are so excited to introduce you to Ryan Bailey from Boise Cascade!
Tell us about being on the Campaign Cabinet. What motivated you to want to get involved?
I have not been involved with a great deal of community out-reach programs or charitable associations who give back to the greater Boise community. I’ve been looking for an opportunity to do just that through volunteering or providing program assistance. When I was presented with this opportunity, I couldn’t think of a better way to not only give back to the community, but also seeing the efforts put forth and the benefit it provides those in need.
There are so many ways to give back and be involved with charitable organizations. Why do you choose United Way?
Boise Cascade and United Way have had a long-standing relationship in the Boise area. I’ve participated in various United Way functions within Boise Cascade but I’ve also heard nothing but positive feedback from individuals such as Wayne Rancourt and Jill Twedt regarding what United Way does for the Boise community. United Way’s successful brand name and the positive feedback from other volunteers made this an easy decision.
Tell us a little about your role with your organization and what you do!
I’ve been with Boise Cascade for just over 28 years in various roles within the Building Materials Distribution Division. Currently, I manage our general line procurement department as well as our global sourcing department for those products sourced and distributed through our 38 distribution centers.
What are you doing when you’re not working your tail off at your place of employment or for United Way?
I’m an avid runner and outdoorsman. Any time spent in the foothills or mountains is time well spent. I enjoy hunting, fishing and spending time with my wife and dogs.
