Tell us about being on the Campaign Cabinet. What motivated you to want to get involved?
Over the last few years, I have witnessed the power and positive impact in which the United Way of Treasure Valley has had on our community. And I stand in great admiration of their dedicated staff and volunteers. I have been drawn in by the commitment they make each and every day – it’s infectious! I was looking for a way that I could give back to the community in a way that I could also contribute similarly.
There are so many ways to give back and be involved with charitable organizations. Why do you choose United Way?
I was raised in Caldwell and we were brought up with the understanding that communities and services would cease to exist without the assistance of volunteers. And it is our obligation to give back and the reward is the satisfaction that we could be a part of something bigger than ourselves. The United Way fills the gaps in our community in ways that no other organization can or does and have found the investment of time to be an extraordinary experience.
Tell us a little about your role with your organization and what you do!
I am a graphic designer and have been a small business owner for over 30 years.
What are you doing when you’re not working your tail off at your place of employment or for United Way?
When not working, my husband and I love riding our bikes, hiking and enjoying the great state of Idaho!
