A Season of Giving

Fall is an exciting time for United Way of Treasure Valley! This is our major fundraising season where we are gearing up to fund next year’s biggest needs in our community.

But what are the needs in our community and how do we know about them? You may be surprised to know that United Way keeps our finger on the pulse in a big way in that department. Every three years, we conduct a deep and wide assessment; the Community Assessment, in which we collect and crunch a huge amount of data to determine the Treasure Valley’s greatest needs.

Next year, we will be funding 34 programs across 27 organizations. Some of those programs include:

Suicide Prevention

Crisis Intervention and Prevention

Shelter for victims of domestic violence

Homeless services

Behavioral Health services

Medical, Dental, and Mental Health for the underserved

Mobile Dentistry

Mentoring

Education and Career Development

Family Literacy

Childhood Development

School Pantries

Foodservice Training and Development

Emergency Rental and Housing Assistance

So when you’re considering a charitable donation or wondering how you can make the most impact with your charitable dollars, you can know that United Way’s Community Fund is absolutely the answer. On your own, you might be able to do a little, but when you pool your money with your colleague’s money, your neighbor’s money, and our money, you can do more than you ever thought possible.
