Campaign season is coming right up and we are full of ideas, anticipation, and energy! Every year we hope to set new records, reach new goals, and create even more impact than the year before. Because we know what the importance of having access to healthcare, quality education, being financially stable, and having basic needs met means for all people here in the valley; it means thriving over surviving. It means succeeding over succumbing. It means having a quality of life that everyone deserves.
We are so fortunate to have State Employees who care so deeply about their workplace giving campaign. Last campaign season, we received the following letter from a Department of Health & Welfare employee:
"I would like to nominate the Department of Health and Welfare to receive the Traveling Trophy for their efforts in the United Way Charitable Giving Campaign. Our Department campaign consisted of 39 campaign coordinators in our various locations statewide. All of our coordinators volunteered their personal time to manage fundraising events in the month of October. Some of the events included: a dunk tank, craft fair, jeans day passes, raffles, baked goods, and so much more! Through their dedication and hard work, we were able to surpass our [agency goal by $2,000]! Our Director was so impressed with our efforts that he offered a fun thank you to our employees by coloring his hair pink and blue for the day. Please consider recognizing our amazing coordinators for their creativity and innovation surrounding our fundraising efforts."
***Update: Department of Health of Welfare received Honorable Mention while the Department of Education was the actual winner. CONGRATS TO ALL! The real winner here is the entire Treasure Valley, who has people like you willing to be the change.
