If you're involved at all with United Way, you know this amazing lady. She's been giving back to us for years, is part of Women United, has been a total leader and rockstar at our various volunteer activities, and is just an all around wonderful person. We're so happy to have Jet Hood on our United Way Campaign Cabinet!
Tell us about being on the Campaign Cabinet. What motivated you to want to get involved?
I’m a big fan of the work the United Way does to help children and families overcome barriers to their success. I want to use my knowledge and experience to help build awareness across the Treasure Valley about how gifts to the United Way will lead to a healthier and stronger community.
There are so many ways to give back and be involved with charitable organizations. Why do you choose United Way?
The United Way has the big picture; an umbrella view of the community needs and community resources already working to address those needs. The United Way uses convening power, oversight, and planning to ensure resources are efficiently deployed, are not redundant, and are aligned to the biggest opportunities. I want to be a part of that.
Tell us a little about your role with your organization and what you do!
I am recently retired, so I do not have the direct sphere of influence that many employed executives have. I hope to be an available and ready resource to those on the cabinet to help them further the reach of the United Way campaign
What are you doing when you’re not working your tail off at your place of employment or for United Way?
I enjoy travelling to see family in Montana and Scotland and friends across the West. I enjoy learning about the world through books and travel. My fitness routing includes lots of dancing.
