It's more than preschool.
It's a chance to inspire a love for learning. It's a chance to teach a young child the foundational skills needed to be successful in life. It's a chance for a child to start ahead and stay ahead in school. And it's just one part of United Way of Treasure Valley's work to be United for Children's Success.
Only half of Idaho's kindergarteners start school with the basic skills needed to read at or above grade level. That's why the United Way of Treasure Valley, the Treasure Valley YMCA, and generous supporters have joined together to provide a high quality early education opportunity in Caldwell for children in need. Since 2011, 580 children have received a high quality early education through the YMCA and United Way Preschool Program (formerly known as the P16 Program).
We thank our generous supporters for Joining the Community and making this early education opportunity possible. Thank you to the Whittenberger Foundation, CapEd Credit Union, Crookham Company, Republic Services, Caldwell Transportation Company, the City of Caldwell, and individual supporters. We also thank the Treasure Valley YMCA for their excellent instructional and support staff and the Caldwell School District for instructional space.
